Sex Education Guide for Parents Helps Keep Children from Abuse

There is a fact that parents should know related to sex education, especially there is lots of news about child molestation, and the fact is reluctance to talk about sex education in our society. Moreover if the children get sexual abused and they don’t talk about it because of the values in the family which is talking about sex is a taboo. No wonder kids finally try to find more information from many different sources, like friends, magazine and internet.

Sexual abused?
Some of the child sexual abuse types are fondling, inappropriate touching, and pornography, to full force intercourse with sadistic acts. The average age of the victims is 9 years old even though there are some cases that the victims are 2 month year old babies. Based on surveys, most kid sexual assaults are committed by somebody the victim recognizes for example like a father, a sibling, a family friend, a neighbor, a teacher, and another relative.

One of the best ways
To have a good relationship between parents and children is one of the best ways to solve this problem. As you know that an open and comfortable interaction between parents and kids is a doorway to get you to a higher level of getting inside into their own world. You need to understand them first before to make them listen to you and therefore you need to have a good and positive deposit to get this kind of relationships.

How to put positive deposit in them
Here are some tips to put some positive deposits to children in order to get an open and comfortable relationship with them.

1. Change your way of thinking about them
This is your first priority for you to do, believe it or not, you still believe about “my children have to do this!”, change that way of thinking become “I understand why my children do that things”, by the time you change your way of thinking into a win-win situation, it will give a different reaction to the children and of course the result.

2. Stop giving your first reaction
Most of our first reaction to our kids are not 100% right (especially for those people who never evaluate their old believes) I guess it is a better Idea if you stop giving your first reaction by trying to listen and learn about their way of thinking.

3. Start talking with their words NOT yours!
If you do the number two, you will get some important words that mentioned many times that your kids use, and that’s the media for you to give a positive deposit.

The indicator that you are having a better relationship with them is your kids start talking more about personal things to you, so congratulations then, you are on the track. The more “talking personal things” you have, the better relationship you will get, and this will help you to give better chance giving important information such as sex education, and at the end it will help you keep your children from sex abuse.

BlackBerry PlayBook - Not Quite Finished?

Bloomberg's Rich Jaroslovsky reviews Research In Motion Ltd.'s PlayBook tablet computer. The PlayBook, which arrives in stores April 19, is initially available only with a Wi-Fi connection. It's priced the same as the Wi-Fi-only models of Apple Inc.'s iPad 2: $499 for 16 gigabytes of storage, $599 for 32 GB and $699 for 64 GB.

Though reviewers had several upbeat things to say about the PlayBook, they remained concerned about the tablet's overall finish. For instance, critical email and calendar apps, a must for a device that is touted as the "world's first professional-grade tablet," are notably missing.

Admittedly, the PlayBook is able to access email and calendar features either via a bridged connection with a BlackBerry smartphone or through web apps, but reviewers found the tethering requirement unwieldy and cumbersome.

Reviewers also took issue with the bugginess of the OS, the lack of cellular data and the scant selection of compatible apps.

Eva Longoria Has Wardrobe Malfunction & Shows Sexy Legs with Shorts on Letterman

No buttons to pop open here! Eva Longoria avoids another wardrobe malfunction in skin-tight dress

She may have experienced a wardrobe malfunction earlier in the week when her jacket popped open on David Letterman’s chat show, but last night Eva Longoria made sure her dress fitted like a glove.

The actress wore a well-fitting black strapless LBD while attending the opening party for an LA museum that recognises Mexican-American’s contribution to Southern Californian culture.

It was a far more modest look for the 36-year-old than the micro shorts and gaping jacket that she wore on Letterman’s show while promoting her NEW COOKBOOK

But despite her elegant ensemble at the the Inaugural Gala of La Plaza De Cultura Y Artes in Los Angeles yesterday, the museum opening still sparked controversy.

Pia Toscano Unleashes Rock And Roll Mettle On 'American Idol'

'You killed it!' judge Steven Tyler says after calling ballad-loving finalist a 'murderer.'

Pia Toscano finally broke out of her comfort zone on Wednesday's (April 6) "American Idol," stepping away from torch-song balladry and moving into more uptempo territory, a transition the judges have been urging her to make for weeks.

She did so by scaling, on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night, one of the grandest songs in pop music history: Ike and Tina Turner's towering "River Deep - Mountain High." The 1966 offering was considered by its producer, the legendary Phil Spector, to be his finest creation, and its subsequent failure in America helped kick-start his slow decline.

Teen Births Down in U.S., but Higher than Elsewhere

While teen births fell 37% between 1991 and 2009, the CDC reports that U.S. rates are higher than those in Canada and most European and Scandinavian countries.

Wanda Barfield, MD, MPH, director of the CDC's center for chronic disease prevention and health promotion, said sex education and communication with parents and healthcare providers falls short in the U.S.

Yet rates of contraceptive use differed among various racial and ethnic groups, being lowest among blacks and Hispanics, the researchers said. That went hand-in-hand with higher teen pregnancy rates for these groups:

* 59 per 1,000 black females
* 70.1 per 1,000 Hispanic females
* 25.6 per 1,000 for white females

Many parents came to the school after reading the teacher’s negative comments on Wednesday, to take their children out of the class.

One in five American mothers have children with different dads

Researchers found that the trend was higher in minority groups and mothers with low income and education backgrounds.
The data was taken over a 27-year period from nearly 4,000 U.S. women who had been interviewed more than 20 times.

The study's author Cassandra Dorius said of the one in five figure: 'To put it in perspective, this is similar to the number of American adults with a college degree. It's pervasive.'

She said: 'Women with children from multiple fathers tend to be disadvantaged compared to other moms. They are more likely to be under-employed, to have lower incomes, and to be less educated.'

The study revealed that:

NINTENDO 3 DS

Whether you're watching a Hollywood action movie in an IMAX theater or college hoops on a 3-D TV, there's no denying the wow factor of current 3-D technology. And the trend isn't lost on video-game companies — particularly Sony, which has been trumpeting the 3-D environments of recent PlayStation 3 games like "Killzone 3."

Still, big-screen 3-D isn't for everybody: Those of us with poor vision will probably never adjust to wearing 3-D glasses on top of our prescription specs.

That's why Nintendo's announcement last year that it had created eyeglasses-free 3-D was greeted with such enthusiasm. And its 3DS portable game machine ($250) lives up to the hype, creating a convincing illusion of a third dimension beyond its 3.5-inch screen.

The most dazzling demonstration, which comes installed on the device, is "AR Games." ("AR" stands for "augmented reality.") Place a card on a table, point the 3DS cameras at it — and a dragon bursts out of the flat surface. To shoot targets on the dragon, you have to move yourself around the card to find different angles.

You can also take 3-D photos and add a variety of effects. Or you can incorporate your friends' images into "Face Raiders," which morphs them onto a fleet of floating, whirling attack helicopters. Like "AR Games," it's simple, but offers a promising glimpse of what we might expect from future 3DS software.

Nintendo has assembled a solid but derivative lineup of 18 games ($40 each) to accompany the launch of the hardware. Almost all of them are based on familiar franchises, including Nintendo's own "Pilotwings Resort," a lighthearted flying game, and "Nintendogs + Cats," a lovable pet simulator.

The 3-D effect does enhance sports games like EA Sports' "Madden NFL Football" and Namco Bandai's "Ridge Racer 3D." But it feels superfluous in Capcom's "Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition" because its 3-D angles tend to block your view; it's a good game, but "SF" fans will probably stick to the 2-D perspective.

'American Idol' Saves Casey Abrams, But Can He Win?

First, the good news for Casey Abrams. Even if voters are on the fence about the emotional bass player, the judges clearly love him and were unequivocal in deploying their once-a-season save on Thursday night's "American Idol."

Now, the bad news: It's probably still not enough to carry him to the winner's circle. If "Idol" history is any indication, the save is mostly a postponement of the inevitable. It helped season eight's Matt Giraud (a wild-card pick to begin with) when he faced elimination in the top seven, but did him no good when he was booted just two weeks later in the top five. Fast-forward to last season, when Michael Lynche faced the chopping block in week nine. The judges busted out the save again, which kept Big Mike around for four more weeks, when he went down in the #4 slot.

Which begged the Friday morning quarterback question: Can a saved contestant win "Idol"?

"The save tends to be a sentimental favorite who possibly doesn't have the breadth of talent ... or a favorite with a fatal flaw, like Giraud's range issue, in which he could do one thing well, but could not present the 'whole package' as Steven Tyler [called it]," said National Public Radio music critic Ann Powers. "Casey is a super-underdog that has a following for his story and his personality, but soon enough, that gives way in an 'Idol' season to performance, and he's too out-of-control, performance-wise. He's too similar to Paul McDonald, who is cuter and more polished."

Powers said it's clear Abrams appeals to producers, possibly because he represents the last vestige of what "Idol" used to be: a competition for real amateur singers who have not been preparing their whole lives for a shot at stardom. "He's really not together, very emotional, he messes up a lot and he wears weird clothes," she said of Abrams' offbeat style, which contrasts with the dreaming-of-stardom-since-childhood packages viewers have seen on many of the other finalists over the past few weeks. "All the others this season set a high bar for professionalism, even the teens, so maybe they want him around because he contributes an unpredictability, which is good TV."

In the end, though, Powers said Abrams doesn't really have a shot at winning the whole thing, though he could survive a bit longer if he takes the judges' advice and calms down next week, perhaps taking a seat and singing a sensual ballad that would show off his less flagrant side.

MTV News "Idol" expert Jim Cantiello was actually charmed by nervous-stomached Abrams' near on-air cookie toss after Thursday's news that he would get another chance. And he thought the save was well-placed.

"Third time's a charm for the judges' save," Cantiello suggested. "For the first time, it didn't feel like an arbitrary 'we better use this because it's the last week we can' moment. Unlike Matt Giraud and Michael Lynche, I can see Casey Abrams lasting more than a couple of weeks post-save. It feels less like the judges are delaying the inevitable, even though I can't imagine Casey taking the 'Idol' crown, let alone making the top four, unless his near-elimination instantly shakes the growl out of his voice and the [creepiness] out of his game face."

"Idol" blogger MJ Santilli of MJ's Big Blog doesn't see how a contestant who has been saved can ever win it all. "Amongst the top nine winners of 'Idol,' some, like Fantasia Barrino for instance, hit the bottom three once as a little wakeup call. Others, like Taylor Hicks and David Cook, never hit bottom at all," she noted. "A contestant that is out-and-out eliminated does not have the fanbase and staying power to make it to the very end. I think Casey will be lucky to make it to the top five now. He's got the 'loser' stink on him."

If nothing else, Cantiello and Santilli were excited that the save guaranteed that Abrams would be on the summer "Idol" tour, where he's likely to provide some fireworks on what might otherwise be a pretty tame affair.
